The casts did think about portraying Superman and Batman in a reversed light, with Batman being older than Superman and the two adult heroes being torn between good and bad, however, they brought back the idea of turning back the clock and starting with an earlier version of Damian since they felt it was a good angle.

 The young Harold apparently wanted to become like his father, which added some nice comedic elements to it all. The writers still brought in some of his battles within himself to the last edited version of the film.
